Our History and people

The business was formed in 1979 by Stuart Stott initially to provide electronic support services to Howard Doris Ltd platform construction yard in North West Scotland. We went on to supply Instrumentation and Commissioning services for the construction of Phillips Petroleum Maureen Alpha Production Platform and the British Gas Morecambe field.

The client list grew to include many of the major oil and gas production companies primarily in the UK sector but also including Germany and Abu Dhabi.

During the late 80's and early 90's we supplied specialist project engineering services to British Gas Exploration and Production. In the mid 90's we built up a series of contracts with project management and design companies supplying consultancy Services. In 1994 Jenny Stott was appointed as a director and the company name was changed to J & S Stott. Jenny took up the role of administration and finance which continues to the present time.

During the early part of the 21 century contracts were completed for a wide variety of clients both in the UK and Europe. In 2008 Stuart and Jenny decided to scale back the company to just concentrate on the supply of specialist project management labour to the Oil and Gas Industry (in effect the company went back to its roots) The business was reorganised as a partnership and has since concentrated on the supply of key specialist personnel.

Amber Button joined the business in 2012 as a partner with special responsibility for liaison with clients. Amber also provides logistical support to management personnel working for clients.
